Jacksonville Octoberfest

Jacksonville held their second annual Octoberfest this past weekend. It consisted of a 5k race that morning and then a day filled with fun activities and fair type food. Not to mention a beer garden!! We decided to take full advantage of this day since there's not much going on in J'ville usually. Jesse and I helped out at the 5k (Jesse's work helps put it on) and then spent the afternoon and evening with great friends enjoying the fall fun. Can you believe they even had a camel that you could ride? It ended up being one of my favorite nights!

mom and robert came to visit!

My mom and Robert came to visit last weekend during their fall break. We had such a wonderful time but missed Jesse while he was in Charlotte for work. We spent some much needing time together going to the beach, attending church and eating out! It was so relaxing and I can't wait for them to come back! Here are some pictures from their trip.

Fair Fun!

Who doesn't love the fair? Carnies, deep fried goodies, cotton candy, rides, games and the lights are what we love about it! Of course, whenever it comes to Jacksonville we have to go! We had a great time this year...despite the fact we didn't ride any of the rides. Here are some pics for you to enjoy! We look forward to going back next year!

Breast Cancer Awareness

Did you know that October is breast cancer awareness month?

Here are so things that we did at work to celebrate and promote education about women and breast cancer! I normally wouldn't post about work stuff but we had such a good time that I had to! We started the day with a healthy breakfast (pink muffins, bagels and pink cream cheese). We were educated on the importance of self exams as well as going to the Dr. for a mammogram. The last hour of our day we went and walked on our new walking trails! Have I mentioned I love my job?

Breast cancer has been near and dear to my heart since Mrs. Linda Stalnaker passed away from it! She was an incredible wife, mom and friend that is truly missed!

Dog days of Summer

I LOVE LOVE LOVE the beach and so do my pups! I am so thankful and blessed that we live so close to it and are able to go often. It's so relaxing! We took the dogs Labor Day weekend for some much needed play time. They love swimming in the ocean and retrieving toys that we throw out. They get so excited when we tell them we're going to the beach. Here are a couple of pictures that we took from that beach trip.
